thank you VonGreen.
I am still trying to learn my way around. After reading you message I made sense why my dogs could precipate an attack. I guess I start praying aloud. When I was a racewalker I wore bells onmy shoes it drove me crazy but that what the pros had told me. The animals wound be less likely to attack if they heard you rather than just coming upon them.. I did find a partner but half of the time she out of the community so that when I go alone. In fact I am getting ready to go for my walk. Which I like cuz without my partner I can go at a faster pace. Thanks again
Thanks again. I let you

bjoann...don't take a dog with you. That will only make matters worse. You will need like a big stick, a walking stick should be fine. Don't eat meat, like fried chicken or steak before you go out for your walk. That will just make their mouth water and then your done in. Actually, these creatures are generally just as afraid of you as you are of them so don't show any fear, they can smell it and they may think you are game about to run. Oh how much fun that would be for that mountain lion. They love a good chase. Fear causes panic and that would not be good. The stick probably won't help with the larger critters, but it works wonderful on snakes. The only real advice I have for you is don't take an animal with you, find a buddy to walk with you, make noise while you are walking and seriously, don't show any fear. I normally make my husband go with me when I walk around our property and down the road. We don't have bears, but we do have a bobcat that lurks around our yard and he is not small. I hope I did not offend by anything I said, if so, I apologize now. Happy Hiking!
