Overhead Squat

Calories Burned:  510 calories per hour   (based on a body weight of 150 lbs.)
Primary Muscles Trained:  Thighs
Secondary Muscles Trained:  Quadriceps, Spinal Erectors, Obliques, Intercostals
Instructions: 
The entire motion should be done in a smooth, controlled manner with the downward movement no faster than the upward.
 
Start: Grab a light barbell (or even a broomstick) and stand holding it overhead with a very wide grip and straight arms. 
 
Finish: Slowly squat down, holding the bar with straight arms overhead. Rise back to the starting position.
 
 

Exercise Comments

I've never tried doing a squat like this. I may try it with a broomstick.
