Calories Burned:  340 calories per hour   (based on a body weight of 150 lbs.)
Instructions:

Steady-State Cardio

Be aware that riding on a stationary bike inside is easier than riding outside due to the lack of wind resistence and other weather conditions. Often your pace time inside will not translate outdoors so your RPE level might need to be adjusted.

RPE stands for Rate of Perceived Exertion and is based on a 10-point scale.

10 = extreme exertion -- conversation is impossible

8 = high effort -- conversation is extremely labored

6 = optimum effort -- conversation is difficult, but possible

4 = medium effort -- conversation is easy to maintain

2 = warm up

Thought I'd get goin using the recumbent bike which I have, although Id really like to get involved with a spinner bike. I bought one of those DVD's that is suppose to be for spinning and it gives a workout I in no way can keep up with-but the scenery is nice and I do play with the resistance making tougher to go up hills and less resistance going downhill. On the bike about an hour and it is only the second day. Is this ok? I have no idea how to go about getting myself in shape other than working out as hard as I can. I walk around a track for an hour which is 3 miles, 4 days a week.
