It's been said that doing heavy weights with fast jerky moves can cause bulk, and doing longer slower movements causes leanness of muscles, and you may want to lose the weight first and do
just enough to get your muscle toning started, maybe using light weights again until you lose the unwanted weight.

I need serious help. I'm used to running a ton. I decided I needed to tone up more, but now I don't feel like I'm getting enough cardio. I'm doing light light weights. I'm talking like less than 10 lbs for the weight training exercises.... But I'm getting bulky and it's frustrating. Any tips?
