Welcome all the new people!
Glad to have some new motivation in the group! (I still like my old motivation too.)

Sheena, I've done that before! I thought I was going to faint at the gym, I ran to the bathroom and threw some cold water on my face. I felt like shit the rest of the day. There is a fine line between pushing yourself and killing yourself.

Carl, I want to see some before and after pics! I was wondering how you're dealing with stretch marks. I've heard cocoa butter works well, but I have some I'd like to get rid off and I know you do to losing all that weight. How awesome is it?

I've had a great week. I don't think I lost any weight (not sure why) but my energy levels are up and I got in 4 really good workouts. It's so nice to see some overall results! My weight loss has been really slow, I thought I wouldve been to my goal by now (being 7 months into my lifestyle change) but I feel good. All my friends tell me how good I'm looking and I feel so much better about myself. I've lost 21 pounds total and my total goal is 40. I'm halfway there and feeling good. Stick with it yall, it's so worth it! Not only for the compliments and confidence, but for the long and short term health benefits and the inspiration you give to others. (My boyfriend's lost at least 10 lbs since I've started dieting).
Heads up people! We can and will do this!

sidelined again
Here I am, out with another injury. I don't even have a fun story to go with it. Just somehow managed to pull a calf muscle while doing the laundry of all things! I'm hobbling like an old woman so I'm guessing no curves today and no bike ride tonight, although I'm sorely tempted to see if I could manage to ride.

Rachel, hooray for you for reaching the halfway point in your journey!! I guess that's about where I am too. I also like seeing that you refer to it as a life style change rather than the dreaded diet. I found that once I stopped with the all or nothing attitude it went a long way towards changing my thinking and my ability to lose weight. I tell myself that I can have any food or drink that I want in moderation. There's no more pigging out on sunday because I'm starting yet another diet on Monday. If I over do it on one day I don't worry about it because I do well most other days. An indulgence does not have to mean I've blown the whole thing so I may as well just keep eating. This has carried me a long way in my journey.

Cat, where are you? We're waiting to hear that you're ok.

Rachel, I'm with you. Let's see Carl's before and after pictures.

Henryswifey, how's the battle going today? By the way, I love your name. I would be Jeffyswifey if I wasn't already a leuny, living at the leunybin.

Take care all!

2 weeks down!
Hello Everyone,

We are two weeks into March, half way there...I'm still doing my workouts and then some...

I actually went skating at the leisure center with my little sister and my Dad....I would have had a good time if it wasn't for the creepy old dude hitting on me. It's nice to be told I'm pretty but once is enough and please don't try and teach me how to skate I'll figure it out...I got quite the creepy vibe from this guy, he didn't even leave me alone when I told him to leave me alone...whatever, next time I'll make Warren come skating with me.

In my workout program tomorrow is my fit test and weigh in, I'm excited to see my results, I can definately tell I lost...maybe not so much as weight but inches for sure!

Hope you're all doing as well as I'm right now....two more weeks!

Hmmmm this is different.....
So i have been planning my meals for the day the night before while I am not hungry (Like right before bed). Its really helping me out a bit, because I stick to the amounts that I have planned! In the mornings I have to brunt of my calories, it works for me. This morning I couldn't even eat all that I planned for myself to eat. I was so proud of myself!!! I am just going to say this and its so embarrassing soooo...... I started this journey at like 208 and I am down to 203 :)! I I am wanting to break out of the 200's by the end of the month. I want to be down to the 190's! You guys think its possible???
I learned I wasn't getting enough fiber, so now I am taking Fiber advance gummies! I have started taking vitamins too, I saw somewhere that it was a good idea to take vitamins. I myself have a problem with digestive health so I am taking aloe vera and b-12 for metabolism, I am also taking a one a day multivitamin. Do you guys take any vitamins?
What do you guys have for breakfast and lunch and dinner usually? Do you guys count calories? Do you eat when your hungry or when its meal time???
For breakfast I have grapes and strawberries, yogurt and a single serving box of raisins! (I love raisins) Today for lunch I am going to have some celery and some progresso soup, probably chicken noodle! For a snack between lunch and dinner it'll be planters NUTrition digestive health mix, and some yummy green grapes! (Grapes = Another fav) And for dinner at work it'll be a apple juice box, (oh ya a juice box, yummy!) broccoli and cheese, and an apple and purple grapes crunch pack!
Trying to teach myself to drink more water, that battle isnt working out too well though. Any suggestions on how to get myself to drink more water. Right now what I consume isnt nearly enough and I know it. There have been days where I could count the number of swallows of water I have had for the day on one hand. I should add in there that its not because I drink soda or anything else really because I dont! I just dont really drink anything at all. Please give me suggestions. Four swallows of liquid a day isn't good huh?
Got some new shoes the other day! Do any of you wear any of the shape up shoes or the toning shoes??? What are your opinions on them? I got a pair of the easy-tones by Reebok and I love them (got those for work)! I also got a pair of sketchers cross trainers for working out. I heard those where good and very supportive for my whole foot and ankles, unlike a plain pair of running shoes! (btw I like the Reebok easy-tones better than the sketchers shape ups) they look better and are more comfortable in my opinion.
Sorry for such a long message! Please forgive me!

shape up shoes

I baught the original shape up shoe MBT's and they cost a little over $300.oo. The first week of wearing them my legs got a little more toned and I lost 5 pounds. They aren't really worth the 300 for most people, for me it was great because I have knee problems and they help my Patella and Femur bones from sliding against each other. Many people don't know that they have improper posture and balance and it can really wear out your joints especially for those of us who dislocate easily. Those shoes have helped repair some of the damaged muscle, tendons, and ligiments around my problem knee by inforcing proper posture and balance that I can now wear high heels again without worrying about slipping my bones......it would have been nice to buy the shoes when they looked prettier and cost less though.

I hate water too....well that's not really true....but I'm exactly the same as you henryswifey...I just don't drink anything! If it's alcohol or coffee I can chug it down but anything else I will hardly touch....what helps me is first off those crystal light packages....also if it's near the end of the day and I realize I haven't had hardly any water I'll drink those Vitamin Waters I like the XXX flavor it's got acrai berry, blueberry, and pomagranant antioxgens in it.....another thing that helps is drinking decaf tea and coffee cause believe it or not that counts...i don't care for decaf coffee but the tea is great my favorite is peppermint green tea.

So I feel a little down on myself today *pouts* I've been doing this insanity workout program for two weeks now and I can totally tell that it's working...but today was my weigh-in and I went up a pound. I also did all my measurements and they all stayed the same. I know it might not be a good time of the month for me to judge my results (damn women problems) but it's really hard to not call my fiances sister who happens to make icecream for a living...i want some triple chocolate fudge...and in a 4L bucket too! *pouts*...

laughing my buns off
Hi all!
Really Sheenah?? The 4L bucket??? Now if you were talking about the xl bottle of wine, I'd be right there with you! I always wanted to try those sketchers or something like them, but didn't want to pay the outrageous price tag. I have really heard they work great for toning though. Don't get down on yourself about the measurements. 2 weeks isn't an incredibly long time and you said yourself that you can feel it. The rest will follow thru. By the way, did the same person measure you this time as last? If the tape measure is put in just a little different spot it can really change the numbers.

Henryswifey, good for you for taking a deep breath and just putting that number out there. You're not going to shock anyone here with that. When I get scared of the scale because it's just not going to be where I want to, I take a deep breath, get on the scale and face it. you can't deal with it until you know where you're at. And hooray for you on a 5 pound loss!!! Everyone here knows exactly what it takes to get that scale to move that far. As far as what I eat, I was never a breakfast person until I started this project. Now I still don't eat as early as I should, but usually by 9:30 I manage a whole wheat english muffin with peanut butter. For lunch here at the office, I usually have either a full can of progresso soup or a healthy choice meal so my calories for lunch range between 240 and 400. I have a small snack around 4:00, something in the 150 calorie range. Supper is always my challenge. If I'm behaving it's baked salmon or baked chicken or something like that with a large salad. Walden Farms does a calorie free ranch dressing that is pretty good. It's not like real ranch, but it adds a lot of flavor for absolutely no calories. I'm an evening snacker and I like a lot of volume so I usually have rice cakes or wheat cakes or pretzels, just something that I can have quite a few of. I used the calorie chart here on fit click and can have around 1400 calories a day to lose weight, or up to 1800 to maintain weight. All the stuff you're listing that you eat is all great stuff with lots of good fiber and vitamins. I'm afraid I sometimes lack in getting all the nutrition I should have.

Water, girls!!!!!! I was just like you until I started setting my calandar for every half hour to drink water. you could also do the same thing with your cell phone. Seriously, give it a week and while you'll still hate the stuff you'll be able to get it down and it makes a major difference on the scale. As a matter of fact, my computer is telling me right now that it's time for a shot of the dreaded stuff, so I'll check out for now. I've rambled enough anyway.

FINALLY
Hey People,

YAY both my parents have noticed that i lost weight...finally! I don't workout for an hour 6 days a week for nothing! I'm super excited!

I haven't weighed myself in a week or taken my measurements yet, I'm gonna save that for the end of this month...as far as i know I have only lost 4 pounds...but that was like 2 weeks ago....but now apparently I look "leaner" and i wasn't even fishing for compliments, they mentioned it out of thin air all by themselves!

That totally makes me want to try harder!

Yay for you!!
That's great news Sheenah! When others start noticing it's a great feeling. Enjoy it! And what amazing restraint you have not to jump on the scale. The only time I can ignore my scale is when I'm sure it's not going to be happy with me.

Question:
Do any of you guys use a George Forman grill? I've been kind of wanting to get one, but I'm not sure what I'd do with it. I'm not a great cook, but I'm sure just putting a plain old slab of meat on the grill just isn't going to do it. Do you marinade stuff or put glaze on it or what? And if you do, what kind of sauces and marinades go with what kind of meat? A little guidance from all the wonderful cooks for the not so great one???? Oh, and step by step instructions work really well for me!

Hi Leunybin, I have a couple of grills there not george foreman ones but the same principal. I do bacon, burgers, steaks, chicken even vegetables on them did you not get a booklet with it? they usually have a few recipes in there if you did. I just brush with a little oil and get grilling suppose could marinade if you like. Enjoy! As for water I hate it too unless its hot! REALLY! I can drink cups of hot water but hate cold unless I squeeze some lemon or lime in it then I can drink it LMAO. I know i'm mad hehe.

glad you're back
Hi all!
Cat it's great to hear from you! Sorry to hear there's no results yet on the tests. I hope that all comes together for you soon. Doctor's can be so frustrating at times. Take the time to take good care of yourself while all of this is going on, but easy on the comfort food!!

I haven't actually purchased the grill yet. I wanted to get the larger one, and they were out of stock. Glad to know there's a booklet of recipes with it as I need all the cooking help I can get!! Up until hubby had some health issues, I was like those guys on tv that cook with the 4 B's, beer, butter, bacon and better not forget the cheese! Now without heavy cream sauces and stuff covered in cheese, I'm just at a loss of what to put on the table at night. Hubby might be getting a little tired of plain slab of meat with a salad!

Have a great day all!
