Anyone else sick and tired of being FAT?!
I've never been thin, but I was reasonably happy with my weight before my accident. I have limited use of both of my arms, due to having my elbows broken. If anybody has any tips or advice to help me out, please let me know. I am more than willing to listen and help where I can, so if you need someone to talk to, I'm here! Can't wait to meet you

You're so right
Not only am I tired of feeling fat & out of shape... I'm tired of being tired. My energy levels are so depleted. I ache in my joints. I groan out loud when I bend to pick stuff up!!! It's hard to be middle-aged but it S**KS to FEEL positively geriatric! That is what I pray I find when my wt goes down... I pray that I will recapture a healthier body that will work without so much pain & exertion.

tired of being fat too
Hi! My name is Judy ,i am 55 years old. I used to be quiet active and thin, till 14 years ago. I was in an accident that brought out an underlying disease , so my doctors say.now i can hardly walk and i get so mad at myself because it seems like all i do is eat and get fatter! I am now about 70 pounds over weight and am very miserable too! My husband always says your fine the way you are, but i don`t feel fine, just plain miserable. Need help too! Any ideas, would very much be appreciated.

Recovery
About 11 years ago, I had a parachute accident. My chute failed to fully open and I hit an airfield runway. I fractured 2 vertibrae, my left ankle, left lower leg, left elbow and wrist were all broken, and I received (for good measure) a concussion. I was 25 at the time. I received ultrasound and massage therapy for my back and was given magnesium/calcium supplements to rehabilitate the bones and ligaments. There are times when my elbow swells to the size of a golfball even to this day. Doctors can't explain why. For your arms, start with pushups on your knees and light weight curls and shoulder presses. Your body will tell you what weight and repetitions are too easy/heavy. After about 3 weeks add another exercise for your arms. Remember that it's about intensity. Your desire to improve yourself is evident. We're all here to help each other. Adversity is an opportunity for us to bring out our best. Oh, I was able to regain my 6:30 minute mile pace 6 months after my accident because of my physical therapy.

Sick and Tired of Being FAT and Depressed
I too am sick and tired of being fat. This has been an issue all my life. And just when I start to get healthy and active surgery changed everything and here I am years later almost 150 lbs obese. My life has been crap because I've been depressed about how I look. Fortunately I am back to taking this weight loss seriously and with the encouragement from you all I won't feel alone. I want to have fun again. I want to live!

If you are willing lets help each other, and see if we can lose some of this excess weight. I will be wating for your response.

I hear you
I can totally relate, I have about a 100 pounds to lose. but I cant even get motivated, then I have my younger sister tell me that she has to lose 5 pounds (big whoop). Ive been really depressed but Ive been trying to find answers. ive been to the doctors a couple of time trying different anti depressents, worring about my heart and stuff (its great when the doctor tells you, well I think its because your fat,, in a nice way of couse, ) and nothings been working but I did run across a book in the library that has helped me understand my body a little better its by the Doctor that wrote the Men are from mars and women from venus books, but this one is on diet and exercise, I think in addition to a better diet & exercise we ( all heavy ppl) need to take a look into our brain chemistry, hormones,.. sorry I know Im rambling.. well anyway Im going to the doctor here shortly and im going to get my hormone levels and blood checked. see if thats contributing to the depression. If your interested in the book im reading its called :The mars and Venus Diet & exercise solution by Dr. john Gray. If you can believe it I dont normally talk this much... Let me know if you want to be friends. that would be cool. I promise not to type your ear off next time.. lisa

I hear you!!
I'm 22 and I'm not obese but I'm at that stage where I hate my body and I feel angry and upset that I let meyself get this way.
I was sat on my ass in college for 2 years. Was there from 8am - 5pm and then sat doing homework from 7-12... i was so stressed and when my friends from college were smoking from stress, i was eating from stress. I gained a lot of weight. I didn't notice it at first and then when i had to buy bigger pants it hit me. I've lost about 10lbs since but I got into a bad habit of snacking and its continued on. Just need the motivation to lose the weight.
My boyfriend says he loves the way i look and it makes me feel good but then at the same time it makes me not feel like exercising....
