Anyone on Zocar or anyother statins???
My dr put me on Zocar about a year ago and I was talking to someone who has told me that they were on it but had soooooo much joint pain with it that they decided to try something else.....have any of you experienced this with taking your cholesterol lowering meds????

No but I think all drugs have side effects...
I take blood pressure meds, the dr. told me that I will be on them for life it is not any issue with being thin or heavy, just good old DNA and genetics. Some genetics are just flawed. There is only so much we can do, sometimes drugs are essential, but the side effects can be worse than the initial condition. Diet and exercise are crucial to health, and drugs are not the solution, but often they are necessary to lead a normal life.

I've never had a problem with my cholesterol. I did have high blood pressure before losing weight. My doctor took me off my BP meds almost a year ago.

Cholesterol Meds
Some years ago, I was put on Lipitor because my cholesterol was around 30 points to high; I did experience a great deal of leg pain. I was then put on Crestor; I never had any leg pain. Currently my HDL & LDL are within normal limits (without the use of any drugs - I quit taking them because I lost my insurance) however; my total cholesterol is 20 points to high (on April 22, 2013). I don't get it. I thought that if the HDL and the LDL were good that all was well. I was wrong. Since then, I have lost 23 pounds and I hope that my numbers are better. I am going to have them rechecked soon; I will let you know what they are.

I pray that we can all eventually eliminate the need for drugs we take. :)

The availability of natural substances like food (flax oil) to lower cholesterol and fish oil to lower triglycerides suggests that these natural products might be able to safely replace the more expensive and somewhat dangerous statin drugs. Many physicians are not aware of the necessity for patients taking statin drugs (Mevacor, Lipitor, Lescol, Zocor, Pravachol, etc.) to take regular doses of Co Q10 (at least 100 mg. to 200 mg. daily). If you take statins be sure you get CoQ 10.
