At a loss on how to begin this big project!
I am a 56 year old female who has 60+ pounds to lose. I live in Indianapolis, IN. I know that I need to be more active and on a proper eating plan. I have arthritis in my feet, knees, and lower back. Thank goodness it doesn't flare up in all the locations at once. I am taking short walks, because I know I need to keep moving. I am pre-diabetic, so I just started a diabetic-type diet and looking into the Glycemic Index as well, as I have read a lot about it. Seems like I know a lot of information, but have trouble applying it for myself. I am on a couple of months medical leave to do water aerobics, physical therapy, and some walking to make my lower back feel better. It's all just racing around in my head - there is SO MUCH to do. HELP!!! Thank you. . . . Mags56

Start with your doctor!
I met with my doctor, who then set up a meeting with a dietician. She gave me caloric and nutritional goals to meet and it was so helpful. There is a lot of conflicting information out there, and your own physician will be able to make sure you are following the right plan for YOU. Everyone is special and unique!

hi mags56
I am 69 years old. I started DFL life style (DFL diet free life) in mid April and lost 15lbs in about 3 months. I could have dropped more but I can't exercise to much either. If you need more infos go to www.dietfreelife.com Read the blogs there and see waht a wonderful result people are getting there. I am happy that I reached in this short time a weight that I had in 1990! I a dropping weight slowly, and I see that with patience I'll reach my goal. Nana
