Back pain and exercise
I am 57 with back pain in my lower back... sacroilliac, a few bulging discs, degenerative disc disease. It has been approximately two years since I have attempted any work out at all. I am finding I can do lower impact cardio, and very light weight strength training, having to improvise some of the suggested routines on the Beginners Utimate workout for women. I have trouble sitting, or even laying down too long..need to stretch quite a bit after each. Just wondered if anyone else out there is dealing with the same or similar situation? All in all, I have chronic pain everyday anyway but am certain this plan has helped my mental outlook and stress level.

Therapeutic massage allows you to remove excessive tone from the muscle and ligamentous corset of the spine, promotes the production of biologically active substances, tissue hormones, accelerates metabolic processes in the tissues and throughout the body. As a result - correct posture, and a less vulnerable spine. For a quality massage you need to use comfortable tables, about which you can learn more. I'm moving to a new house in a week and will definitely buy myself a new massage table, as I can't imagine my life without it, because it makes it so much easier.

I also had back problems. The doctors said that I absolutely should not work out in the gym - only a light warm-up, and then without bending over. I had spondylarthrosis in the lumbar region. Of the treatment - only taking painkillers, which removed only the symptoms of the disease. I then realized that without movement I definitely would not get better. I decided to start running, but if you do it wrong, you can hurt yourself even more. I decided to move at least at home, and my friends and I started playing ping-pong with it. This is a good game that allowed me to develop attention and reaction. Later, I found the best coach, with whom we have been training for over a year. He has a medical background and together we discussed my condition and how it could be improved. He began to give me exercises to strengthen the thoracic spine, to strengthen the muscles of the core and legs. Subsequently, only we can move on to gentle exercises to strengthen the lower back in order to prevent its overstrain. After a couple of months of classes, I felt an improvement in my condition, and I was able to refuse painkillers. So you should find the most competent trainer, ask him about each exercise, make sure that he controls you and inform him of your condition. You will definitely feel better!
