I change my routine weekly...it's still a routine, just weekly.
If I'm working my back this week, next week when I work my back I'll change at least 3 of the 5 exercises.
However, I do keep the staple compound exercises the same (i.e. box squat, deadlift, military press...etc.) just the isolated exercises I change.

Change Routine
Time to change my routine. My routine has been a four-day training split for pairing like muscle groups. New routine four-day training split for pairing opposite muscle groups.

Its a must to change routine and everyone is different. Some like a change every week and others up to 6-8 weeks before a change. I'm the 6-8 weeks person.

Check out my website
I change my workout daily. One day circuit training, one day heavy weights, one day fast reps, pilates, plyometrics...etc. I like to keep my body guessing. I get bored very easily. If you aren't pushing yourself past your comfort zone, you WILL NOT see results. I just started a website because it actually gives me motivation to stay on top of things and create new exercises. Check it out http://fitnessguide365.com.
