Cleansers
Before starting a diet regime should I do a liver and colon cleansers to clean out the toxins in my body? A lot of contradicting information out there. Any thoughts on this?

eat beets or artichokes
If there's contradicting information, stay on the safe side. You don't need to traumatize yourself to lose weight. If you want to help your liver (& colon), eat *beets and artichokes.
*Fresh beets are easy to prepare. Save the green tops aside, boil the beets until fork tender, drain them, cover them with cold water then drain again so that you can peel them with your fingers (it's easy), put them back in the pot and slice them up. Rinse the greens, throw them over the beets, put the lid on and cook until just wilted (not long).

cleasing?
I'm kind of on the fence about cleansing. I've tried it for 10 days (on a water fast) and I felt great afterwards. However, I have seen some really bad after-effects of detox. If you properly prepare for a fast through eating small portions made up of fruits and vegetables and drinking lots of water, then you should be fine.
