Couples Workouts
Hi there,
I was just wondering if anyone has heard of any good couples workouts me and my fiance can do together besides yoga? I don't think Warren would be into yoga even though I would enjoy it, is there anything else couples could do together for fitness?

Couple activities
Hmmmmm, good question. We've tried many things together like swimming, tennis, gym memberships, yoga, indoor rock climbing, ballroom and latin dancing lessons. Separately we've done things like hockey, softball, volley ball, beach volleyball, power yoga, and cycling.
So far, of all of those activities, the ones where it's still 'interesting' to do together are walking, runnning and tabata.
Good luck!

Thanks You Two
Well I think I've decided on what we can do, walking is definately going to be a part of our day and I told him that I'd try golfing with him as long as he goes dancing with me...he's gotta learn for our wedding anyway lol.
What is tabata by the way? I never heard of it.

tabata
Oh, Tabata by definition is high intensity interval training.
Take a look at www.bodyrock.tv when you get a chance. Some really good workouts at that site.

interval training
I did go to that website, wow does that look hard. It looks like she doesn't use much weights or machines either. I like that, I just might try it, although it might be too advanced for me but I'm sure that would definately get me into shape quick.
Thanks for showing me that site.

BodyRocktv
You're welcome.
She's awesome, and so hardcore. And yeah, she doesn't use weights. Lately she's been using things like skipping ropes, dip bar, and sandbags, but so many of her older workout routines use nothing but your own body weight.
And, don't get discourage. Do what you can do, as much as you can do, and you'll do amazing.

own body weight
Yah I don't really like using weights or other things. I sometimes go to the gym and of course that's when I use machines but I'd much rather learn how to do things that only involves my own body weight. When you use our own body weight it's hard to come up with excuses to not workout cause my gym is me and I can workout just about any where.
The most difficult part about working out at home is that it's hard to come up with a routine and it's hard to not workout the same routine every day. I like to change it up cause that way I use different muscles and don't have to worry about getting extra sore. I'm pretty sure you're supposed to let your muscles rest so that they can rebuild.
Anyway thanx again for showing me that site. Talk to ya later.

My pleasure
I totally know what you're talking about!
Working out a home, in the same boring environment, in the same boring confined space, repeating a routine you can do in your sleep, with the same songs on the radio/Ipod, can get very tedious. Ohhhh I know that unmotivated feeling very well :D lol
My pleasure. Ttys

If you are a couple who love swimming together, then you can also relax together after a great swim in your flagstone patio and come back rejuvenated again.
