Looking for Support Buddy too!!!
Hi g0rg3ousb4be!

I am also new to the site ::just joined today:: and am looking for a buddy as well. I have struggled with the whole weight loss thing for some time now and I have tried to do it without a buddy and I feel like maybe not having a buddy was the one of many flaws in my plan. Let me know if you want to team up and work on becoming the best us possible!

hello!
Hi I'm pretty new here too and looking for buddies. :)

My view on diets is to not really diet. Eat healthy food with healthy portions and you'll find yourself losing weight. Keeping calories under 1500 is a good idea too but don't make yourself crazy with it. Allow yourself a "treat" once a month (for me it's chocolate ice cream). Don't go crazy. Just a little something you really love even though it's not good for you.

Find alternatives for a lot of the foods you eat that aren't healthy. For instance when I'm craving chips I eat either something crunchy like sno peas (love them personally) or sunflower seeds or something like that. I've learned to make healthy deserts (you can find great recipes on goneraw.com. You don't have to be a raw vegan to enjoy them) that really take care of my sweet tooth! I can share some recipes with you if you want.

*hugs*
Jess

LETS DO IT!
Hey Ladies!

How about the 4 of us get a support group going! If you guys are in we can setup some goals and rules for ourselves. Ex. We weigh in every Monday or Each week we all have to contribute a new healthy recipe for the group to try...... ::stuff like that:: Im getting excited!

Let me know who's interested!

I agree
I understand completely how you feel! I am usually pretty good for the first month, then I just feel cheated that everyone around me can eat what they want and not have to worry about buying bigger clothes. I need motivation after that initial start also.

MOTIVATION MACHINE, ACTIVATE!
Hahaha, if it only was that simple. I just joined today and my new diets reduces my intake to 930 calories a day (although it WILL increase as I begin to exercise. 930 was determined from my weights and my activity level. Obviously, I haven't been doing ANYTHING active! BAD LAURA! -slaps her own hand-)!

I will gladly help you or anyone in motivation. As a tip remember that whole grains keep you fuller longer. If anyone can give me a push back, do so! ^_^

RE: Lets Do It
I really like the idea of a group of us starting some sort of support group. It'll be fun. I love learning of new recipes to try!

Also, icandoitfor2010, you really should eat more than 900 cal! Anything under 1200 and your body goes into starvation mode and holds onto fat. What you lose is muscle instead. 900 cal a day will make you weak and sick too (you're more prone to illness).

*hugs all*
