I am not sure, but...
I believe sweating has more to do with the cooling system in the body. I would suspect heavy sweating is good during a workout, but using plastic suits etc seems unnecessary, unless you are trying to detox your system. The average human has 2-4 million sweat glands, so I doubt extra sweating does anything but make you lose electrolytes.

Myth unless you are a UFC fighter and you need to cut weight. The best way to win the war on fat. Boost your metabolism (weight training). Cardio without plastic suits to run the risk of dehydration. Eat breakfast every day, eat smaller portions but more often. Conquer your cravings and stop binging. Fall down six times, but stand up seven. Forget plateaus remember that your efforts are improving your overall health. Eat more fiber eat less sugar. WATCH YOUR STRESS LEVEL. Get over gym timidation the muscleheads at the squat rack aren't judging you, they'll do what they can to help you. Fight through the pain. Start slowly and remember that postexercise soreness means you're making progress. Break periods of discouragement with a little help from your friends. That is why FitClick is a great way to accomplish your goals.

Using a sauna suit is only a temporary weight loss and the weight is qucikly gained back when you consume fluids. If you don't use them properly, they can cause dehydration and other serious health problems. I totally agree with freakfreeloader.
