Hi everyone
I am 47 yrs old and everything I ever did to lose weight (I have done it several times in my life), doesn't seem to work anymore. I am 5'7" and weigh 220 lbs(the heaviest I have ever been). I am married to a great man, but he is no help in this area. He hates veggies and fruit, loves cake, cookies, beef and bread. I have decided that I am going to be making two meals, one for him and one for me. If anyone has any ideas on exercise, I have a bad knee and back, both of which would be better if I lost 50 lbs., but running is out, walking is okay, and I have no swimming pool nearby. I would like to find some friends and support. Thanks for listening to me complain, cindy

Hi and welcome
I have a bad back and a bad knee and possible two bad knees. I find that walking is a good exercise for me. I lift weights in my home by using free weight that you can buy at walmarts. This website can give you exercises to do with them. Also, there are plenty workout dvd's that you can do. My husband loves sweets so I make them for him and I get a tiny taste. I also make two meals somedays since my family does not always like the healthy food I eat. They are learning. My husband says "JUST DONT TELL ME WHAT'S IN IT". lol So I dont and he does eat what he does not like. lol lol lol
Good luck.

You could be me!
Hi Cindy! My story is so similar to yours! I was 39 and 220 lbs. I was married to a man who wouldn't touch anything healthy and I did start making two meals. By taking it easy walking and just changing what I ate, I lost 50 lbs.

Now, here I am at 50. Life changes have put me on a different path and the weight has crept back up to 214. I live with a different husband and I've moved back to take care of my dad who likes those homemade sweets and treats. A doctor who is also a friend told me once that all the diets and regiments will never work because they are all based on cutting out something that the body needs. The best diet is to go back to the portions and use all the food groups. I'm doing just that now and I've been watching my progress since I joined a week and a half ago and I've lost 2 lbs already. My knees have not been strong for a long time so cycling is out. I'm not near a pool anymore so swimming is out. I'm not earning what I used to so the local gym is out. That leaves walking and 20 minutes doesn't seem like a lot. My doctor also told me that it's not what you do or how you do it, just that you DO IT! Nowadays, I'm watching the sodium, drinking the water and taking walks whenever I can, and I'm still losing weight! I hope you can find encouragement in this and I would offer one more note. You are beautiful, you are worthy, so do this for you!

Are our husbands TWINS?
I with ALL of you on this, I am a 38yr old mom of 2 (7 & 4) children. I was raised on meat and potatoes and LOTS of bread! Over the years I slowly added other items to my menu. My husband on the other had DID NOT!!!!! He loves all that and the SWEETS. Being pregnant was a wonderful thing but it has left me with this baggage that is no longer wanted. It has over stayed it's welcome... I ashamed to say that I am 38... 5'7" and WAS pushing 3#@! (I can't even say or write it)

I actually started my new lifestyle change in February, using a different site. I have lost 13lbs so far and I do feel great about it but in my mind I keep saying "THAT'S IT"

A few things I have found to help me is FRIENDS to motivate, and encourage me. Logging my food-FAITHFULLY, WATER... and lots of it, and walking. Not only is the walking excersise but it also helps me to clear my head of the pesky little things that stress me. Releaving stress is key also. ( no I am NOT stress free but the walking still helps...LOL)

Being New on here I need all of you for encouragement as well as I plan on giving it back to all of you. We can do this TOGETHER.

Missy

An interesting discussion will be worth comment. I’m sure that you should write much more about this topic, it will not often be a taboo subject but typically persons are inadequate to dicuss on such topics. To another. Cheers vintage clothing online uk
