How to get protein with less calories/fat??
I often find that my fat/calorie levels are way above where they should be but i dont even eat half as much protein as i should. Eggs are good but they have a lot of fat. What are some other protein rich snacks that have low fat?
Thanks

RE: protein
egg whites are probably best. all of the fat is in the yoke, so discarding it or buying packs of eggs whites is a good way to go. however, egg whites can get a little pricey, but it beats separating eggs every day.
i get extra protein from isopure low-carb whey protein, which packs about 100 calories per scoop with 23g of sugar with very little fat/carbs.

protein without fat
non fat cottage cheese is a good source of protein without fat. I have it with fruit or chopped vegetables.

Tuna... high protein, low fat
Tuna is a great source of protein!
One 6 oz. can of tuna (in water) is only 180 calories, 1g fat, 3g carbs, and 39g protein!! I like to eat tuna salad along with 5 Ritz reduced fat crackers and a tossed salad with low fat ranch dressing. The entire meal is around 370 calories and very filling!! There's also 3g fat, 29g carbs, and 41g protein in this meal!!

Gotta go with the beans for starters...
You've got to go with beans...all kinds. Cook your own so as to watch fat and sodium content.
Kashi Go Lean cereal is great!! Don't forget peanut butter...the protein outweighs the fat and is good for you. Buy the organic brands. I love the Butterball brand smoked turkey link sausage....awesome with scrambled egg whites.

protein
"devilled" eggs where you throw out the yolk (where all the fat is) and add hummus
turkey bacon
soy / tofu anything
egg whites in scrambles, quiches...
beans and rice eaten together are a complete protein.

protein
pure protein bars, the strawberry shortcake tastes pretty good, it has 180 calories, 4g total fat, 18 carbs, 19 g protein, its good for a snack. It's the best one I have tried so far.

Greek Yogurt
I use fat-free Greek yogurt in almost every meal. It has twice the protein of regular yogurt. Can make smoothies, parfaits, dips, sauces, "ice cream", marinades... the list is endless.
