I need some inspiration
I haven't worked out in six days! I have been feeling really tired and unenthusiastic lately. It really stinks especially since the weather is getting nice. Some nights I get a burst of energy around 8pm and spend an hour cleaning my house, which is good in one sense. But I had been working out 5 days a week and this week I can't get up the energy to anything. Anyone got any ideas or tricks to help?

I know how you feel. I have been trying to get motivated to get moving. I feel tired , unmotivated, and uninspired, but I think that has to do with all the stress I am under. I have been doing everything for everyone else all my life and only now do I see that no one gives a darn about me. I have to give a darn or I will not get old. So I tell myself that I do it for me and that when I get to where I want to be, I tell everyone else to kiss my skinny little ass. This is one time in my life where I have to be selfish, for me, to keep my sanity, and for my health. You can do it. You can find that inner skinny person and help it to come out.

some days it is a real struggle to get yourself to workout. with the nice weather, i find that if i can just make myself put on my sneakers and grab my mp3 player, a good long walk seems to do the trick. at the end of the walk i feel happy, pleased with myself, and have gotten to enjoy the day/evening. at other times in my life, i have bribed myself to workout. for instance, some months i would pick a number of workouts i would need to do in order to go buy something like a book or cd i wanted, and i would mark all my good days on my calendar and hope to get my reward at the end of the month.

Sometimes you just have to...
... cut yourself a little slack. If you spend a lot of time tracking your meals and your workouts, it might be a good idea to just give yourself permission to take a couple of days off to enjoy life. This doesn't mean to eat anything you come across, but take some time to stop and smell the roses. Appreciate that you've given yourself a day off and love every minute of it knowing that you'll be back it the next day.

Let go of the guilt. Have a day of R&R, then get back into the saddle. I find that planning my activities ahead of time helps. When all else fails, I get on the scale. Yikes! That's enough to get me to get my ass in gear.

Good luck!
