Just Hanging On by a Thread!
Hi!
I am new to the site.....the struggle is the story of my life! I started exercising 3 to 4 days a week about a month ago, only losted 7lbs. Getting very discouraged...need some serious support and a workout partner, if possible. i have also been trying to find a reasonably priced personnel trainer who I can be accountable to. I need to lost at least sixty pounds. HELP!

I think you forgot something...
It's what you didn't mention...
Try changing your eating habits.

In the same boat!
Hi 2Shirl: First of all, great job in losing 7 lbs and working out regular!
I've been fighting the same battle except I did hire a personal trainer (for years - lots of money), it didn't help! So what I am trying this time, is to watch what I eat, do cardio at least 30 - 60 minutes a day. So far all I can say is that I am being honest in recording my food intake, but haven't lost weight. I haven't given up hope I will add weight training this week, you may want to include this in your workout schedule. I would love to have a workout partner too. Be proud of the fact that the weight is coming off, take one day at a time.

Thanks Rosemary!
You and BReasonable are correct. Although I do not eat the foods that I have been eating I find it hard to find a variety of foods I like. Fortunate for me I came around this website last night, I am going to try to create my own diet through this site.
I know I should be happy that I have lost some weight...I'm just so tired of being overweight. I want to starting living for me. If we can't be physical partners maybe we can be internet partner if that is alright with you. I live in Richmond, VA. Thanks again!

RosemaryMG is spot on!
RosemaryMG took note of the fact that you lost 7 pounds in approximately ONE month! That IS excellent, especially since you were NOT starving yourself.
I would only suggest that instead of beating yourself up emotionally with extreme expectations, be kind to yourself. Be the first to give yourself the credit that you deserve. (I'm happy to be losing 1 pound a week because I can't add that much exercise yet without injuring myself.) And remember to also take credit for the extra weight you avoided gaining!

Keep At It
I have seen a personal trainer 3x a week for the last two years (I even took him on a cruise so I could keep training): with his help, I have lost almost 140 lbs in that time.
This has required constant adjusting of both mental and physical components of my program. I am vegetarian, which has added additional challenges. Maybe you can find some motivation in my blog:
