Menopause, Perimenopause, and Weight Loss - Can We Support One Another?
Hi, I'm new and looking for some other women around my age (50) and life stage (perimenopause, menopause). Would like to compare notes and successes and failures and generally support one another. Would like a small group where we can all keep tabs on one another - maybe 3 to 5 people? I'm finding it VERY difficult to keep my weight down while going through menopause. All the rules are changing - weight is accumulating around my middle, I'm tired a lot, when I exercise I get more aches and pains than I used to, I crave sweets A LOT more than usual, hot flashes, difficulty sleeping, etc. Does this sound like YOU too? Maybe we can journey together.

I'm with you!!!
I'm 48 and had been thru several years of perimenopause when I developed endometrial cancer and underwent a hysterectomy in March 2009. The sudden drastic changes in my body have been profound. I gained 30 pounds!!!

I just need to sleep
I just want to sleep all night too. I will be 49 in a few weeks and I too am having more difficulty getting my body to do what I want it to. I have always the best intentions and planning but it does not seem to work.

Me too!!
Fifty three and still waiting. Yes, the middle. Sore subject with me too.
I did find that I gave up on sweets. Don't crave them now. I see everyone around me eating them thinking why are they doing that to themselves. No nutrition value at all. Think healthy!

Can I come too?
I'm only 38 (39 the end of this month) but when I was younger I had to have an emergency hysterectomy- and they had to pull everything.

I've been fine for the most part emotionally with meds but that hasn't stopped the physical body from changing- I still go through it all at a much younger age.

I've gained over 50 pounds in the last 3 years and it's been very difficult- trying to get on track plus deal with all the emotions and physical changes has been a nightmare.

After the menopause
Hi I went through the menopause two years ago but still getting hot flushes. I am 53 and it was such a good thing when it was finally all over. I need to lose 42 lbs. I am trying 1200 cals of what ever I want and it has opened my eyes as to how much I really can eat.

Congratulations on your loss it is a real achievement. I would like to buddy up if you would.
