Needing a pal...
I am 23 and a newly wed. When we met for the first time 5 years ago I weighted about 120. Realizing that is unrealistic for a woman in Southern Georgia, I would be happy again with 150. Currently I weigh 220. I realize that 70 pounds is a lot of effort to put forth but I want my body back! I'm not even sure how this body came to be, but after getting my wedding photos back and being thoroughly disappointed, I realize that it is time to do something about it. I have a really hard time getting motivated however, I can always find something else to do...dishes, laundry, etc... If anyone would like a support system, it would greatly be appreciated. My husband likes the idea and while he is doing the same, I am embarrassed to share some of the things with him.

I hear ya...
I know exactly what you mean. I looked up one day and I realized I weigh 260. I was so sad that I decided to join fitclick and see what it is I am doing wrong. I have drastically dropped my food intake and calories. I think it's good to have places like fitclick on the web so that we can all support eachother. This is a difficult topic and sometimes you don't want to tell your significant other everything.

You can it do!
I completely understand. I have 3 boys (2,1,1) and since their birth, my weight has only increased. I barely have had time to eat and couldnt for the life of me figure out how I was gaining. Since starting fitclick, I have found that it was the foods and timing, basicly everything I was doing was hurting me. I have already lost 4 pounds by just eating but keeping my calories low, drinking lots of water and loffing everything I eat. Taking away the processed foods has increased my energy alot and its only been 4 days!!!! Good luck and just remember has hard has it is to start, the rewards are much worth it!

Good luck!
Hey Cellest -

If you'd like to be pen pals / online motivation buddies I'm definitely interested. I'm in a similar situation - not a newlywed, but will be 23 in June, and weigh about 215 now. I'd also like to get back to 150, which I think is healthy for me given my body frame.

Let me know!

I'm here to help
Looking at the comments I know how you'all feel. I
am 55 years old and I started really gaining weight about 11 years ago when I had to go on disability. As of December of last year I was tipping the scale at 340. I tried to be good over the holidays but it was not easy so I really didn't try very hard. In January I thought I would start but I really only watched what I was eating and I went from 331 to 300. I started the 17 day diet 22 days ago and I'm weighed today 282. I'm thrilled!! I really think this is a good book. Good luck to all. If you are interested the name of the book is 17 day diet by Dr. Mike Moreno.
