New from Ottawa looking for a buddy
Hi,

I'm new to FitClick and could use some support. I've tried diets - tons of them - to no avail. I've been going to a gym and working with a trainer for over a year. But while I'm fit, I'm still fat! I weigh 220 and miserable about it. And to make matters worse - or maybe motivate me more - my weight has taken a nasty toll on my personal life too.

So anyone out there who wants to buddy up? If so, drop me a line.

Cat

Long-distance buddy good enough for you, Cat?
Hi Cat,

I'm a 47yo English guy living in Germany, and I'd like to see if we can support each other on our way to health and happiness. Drop me a line if you want, and if not; good luck with the weight loss, I'm sure you're on the right track again and a buddy will surely come along!

Regards

Ottawa Based and New to FitClick
I think we can probably support one another.
Posts and encouragement and of course accountability.
What do you think?

Support
I'm not sure if this thread is the right place, but I'll make a start.

I know I need to drink lots of liquids and I do. Like most men, I am not particularly found of water, so I tend to drink tea. I choose the teas without caffeine, like rooibos (redbush?) or green tea, but still tea. Anybody anything to say about drinking a lot?

The other thing I find really hard is to stay away from sweets. I tend to wait until I get too hungry, and then eat junkfood. Having a child to take care of (I can't imagine what it must be like with more than one, but hopefully I'll get there some day doesn't help either, as it seems harder to stick to a routine. Anybody have some suggestions or remarks about my apparent sugar addiction?

Thanks,
Rob

I can relate...
Hi Rob, I am kimmer from Alaska...I know what you mean about getting too hungry and then eating junk...I am THERE. Although, my addiction is salt, not so much sweets. I heard that drinking too much tea is not good for you (could be mistaken about that...maybe the caffeinated kind?) My old man is also from England, and if he knew I wrote that he would get his knickers in a twist (haha). Well, congratulations on the new baby, ours is five and, when she goes to school, we hit the local gym at the pool (well, we do that in theory...she is still on holiday break until the 4th of January) *grin* Good luck on your journey.

I am new here as well:) I've been doing some sport since i was 4. I work in the health industry both side: as a pharmacist i can cure and as a FLP team member i can take care of the health and beauty.
I'd love to chat, if you don't mind.

Marcie from Montreal
Hey All,

I'm Marcie, I'm from Montreal and a college student. I'd love to drink tea, but I'm a bit heavy handed when adding sugar. I try to watch what I eat, but I always find someway to slip up, usually by just plain old overdoing it at meal time.

Can't say I have any kids, but I'm constantly surrounded by people young like myself who just so happen to be skinny with perfect hair. Makes me green with envy to be honest...

Anyways, if you want a buddy, or someone to talk to then feel free to drop me a line. And if not, good luck and I wish you much success.

Marcie.
