Runners and walkers! Log your miles here and let's encourage each other!
I started a 5K training program 10 weeks ago (lots of walking intervals at first and slowly increased to running only) and have signed up for my first 'official' race on June 18. I am running 3 days per week.
Today's run: 3.1 mi in 34:30
Got out early (6:00 am) before the heat and humidity got too bad :)

rest day
I don't run on consecutive days... so today no running. I will be cross training at Curves today.

Sat 6/4 and Mon 6/6 miles
6/4: ran 2 miles in 20:30
6/6: ran 2 miles in 20:00
& walked 1.19 miles in 25:00

Move the fat
I walked one mile on the treadmill today at a lower incline so I could do a mile and burn more calories without dying on my first week. We'll see if I can maintain this and do more.

great work LuckyS!
That is an EXCELLENT start!!! I started really slow and easy so I wouldn't burnout and could be consistent with 3 run/walks per week. In the past I would overdo it at the beginning and then give up. This time has been different because I eased into it and focused on consistency and slow improvement.

Wednesday's run
Did 3.1 mile in 31:30 this morning.
Thinking of doing an 'official' 5K this Saturday... would be a last minute registration but maybe that would be good... less anxious anticipation?

My 1st 5K
Got up super early and did a last minute registration for a 5K this morning! Official time 28:12 :) ranked 4th in my age group :)

My 2nd 5K
Ran in a 5K on Saturday 5/19 to benefit a local homeless shelter/mission. My time was 27:27 and I came in 3rd in my age group :)
I am continuing to run 3 days per week with cross training 4 to 6 times per week.
Next 5K is this Saturday 5/25!
