Splenda and Sugar
I have to pick my apples now. I make apple pies and apple crisp out of them. Not to brag but I'm told my apple crisp is the best they ever had. But this year instead of using sugar I'm thinking of cooking my apples with splenda or 1/2 and 1/2 splenda and sugar. Do you use splenda for baking and how does it taste.

Sugar ...yummy
I do the 1/2 & 1/2...sugar in moderation is fine. It also tastes just like you had used all sugar :)

I'm not a fan of any artificial sweeteners.
I'd just use less sugar and use brown instead of white. Also add in a drop of vanilla, lemon zest and plenty of cinnamon and nutmeg.

Artificial Sweeteners
Did you know artificial sweeteners are one of the most recherched idem in the food group and you never see the word warning printed on the bag. But I do see a proud supporter of the Canadian Diabetes Association and is suitable for people with diabetes also ideal for the whole family. Also did I not mention I'm told I make the best apple crisp..... lol.... nutmeg goes great in my rice pudding.

sweetener
I have been using stevia instead of sugar or artificial sweeteners and experimenting with it in baking too. I have had good results with what I have tried so far but I have not made apple crisp yet.

Went with the 1/2 and 1/2
Made my apple crisp with 1/2 splenda and 1/2 sugar only cooking the apples of course. Used the full amount of brown sugar for the crisp tasted the same.

Not an artificial sweetner user
My stomach cannot take artificial sweetners. Within 10-15 min after eating/drinking things with that stuff in it I get sick. Friends think it's in my head and try to trick me, but it never fails ....that tells me something about the chemials used in it.... Sendme your recipe using just the sugar---lol
