Using smaller plates means less food
Tonight my hubby asked if I wanted a regular plate to serve my dinner. I told him "No , just get me a salad plate." There was not much food on the salad plate but looked like loads! Love tricking my brain....of course you can't go back for 2nd servings---try it.

Is your hub okay with smaller plates?
My husband would look at me funny if I shoved all his food onto a tiny plate. LOL! Then he would feel seriously deprived too...

Hubby doesn't do this---
No he would throw a fit if I served his food on a smaller plate...I'm the only one that partakes of this ritual! lol

Larger plates can make a serving look smaller that it actually is, so it will lead you feel you are not eating enough. But we need to know how to use this trick wisely, use large plates for veggies to yourself encourage to eat more, smaller plates for less healthy food (but not extremely small cause that can have an oposite effect). Color also matters, try to use white or blue plates instead of orange or yellow (that colors can increase appetite).
