I want to change up my routine from just walking. I tried a walk/ jog yesterday, but my right knee started bothering me. Any suggestions?

it takes time
If I find my knees getting sore from running, I play around with my walk/run intervals. Start with a warm up walk and then add in your 1 minute of running. Use ice right after if your knee is bothering you. I have also gone to the chiro and sometimes it is just a little adjustment. Just listen to your body and don't overdue it, or run with an injury

Train to rehab your knee don't compensate for it
If your knee is sore from running it's time to pay a little more attention to you knee. That is your weak link to be able to play all sorts of sports. You have to start to rehab your knee. I speak from experience, I tore my ACL and MCL in a martial arts tournament. You have to build the muscle around your knee to help support your knee when you run. Weight train, ride the bike and run on the treadmill not on the ground or concrete. Make sure you stretch after your cardio never stretch cold.
