What is Strength Quotient?
This site has great information and I like the trackers but it's not as user friendly as I had hoped. For example I have a strength quotient of 104 but have no idea what that means. I've searched and can't find any definitions. Can you tell me what this means, is this a good number or not, what number should I be shooting for, and what effects this number? Thanks.

Go to account and there's a link on the menu there called "My Strength Ability" - it is something you can modify but, at least for women, it is only based on the number of knee push-ups you can do. I can do 60 and my strength quotient is listed as 122. 104 Doesn't seem bad but I wouldn't lose sleep over it b/c knee push-ups are not really that impressive anyway regardless of whether you can do 10 or 1000.

Yeah...they won't tell you
As someone mathematically and scientifically (Ph.D.) inclined, I have been very curious about the algorithm they use to calculate the strength quotient. From my own experience, it evidently takes into account weight, age, height and the strength workouts you enter. The actual calculation, however, seems to be a closely guarded secret. I have to admit that I have seen my own number fluctuate for reasons that I can't explain on multiple occasions. I have many questions about how they calculate it, but nobody seems to be willing to give any specific answers. I believe 100 is supposed to be average strength for someone's height/weight/age group, and 200 is supposed to be the maximum possible value for your height/weight/age group.
So, I suggest you just use it as a relative measure for yourself over time. As you lose weight while either maintaining or increasing strength, your number should go up. That's a good thing!
