Why do I crave carbs?
Gosh, I can go for a week without carbs then--BAM-- I can't stop eating them....Why?

May just be like any other addiction, you are used to something, then you go cold turkey without it and eventually breakdown and binge. Its like Mountain Dew for me... I know I could not go without it so I've just severely reduced my intake of it...sometimes not even a full can a day. Like today I only had about 9 oz.

Carbs
Carbohydrates are the body's primary source of energy and should the major component in our nutritional intake. A healthy diet of carbs should consist of about 15% simple sugars fruit,honey and 85% complex carboydrates whole grains, pasta .Why we crave carbs 15% protein 25% fat 60% carbs.

Choose the right carbs...
I have found that simple sugars and white flours are "trigger" foods for me and create a bigger appetite instead of satiating my hunger. I try to steer clear of refined foods and added sugar. When I limit carbs to fibrous veggies, whole fruits, and high fiber whole grains I don't seem to have the problem.

The breakdown of carbs
Monosaccarides: simple surgers (honey and fruit) good ones 15%
Disaccharides: sucrose (table sugar) no good 0% "sorry"
Polysaccharides: complex carbohydrates (whole grain , pasta and vegetables) good ones but choose wisely 85%
Body needs 60% carbs
