BMR frustration
i dont understand the BMR Calories, if im on the diet tracker i can adjust the calories and i go by that, but when i go to my home and look at the calculations its kinda confusing. can someone explain why its different and where it comes from (BMR) and if it is adjustable. why is one page dealing in calories and the other one the BMR cals?
thanks

bmr explanation
The BMR calories are the calories that your body autimatically burns just by everyday activity. This is figured by your age, weight, and how active you daily life is. So it takes calories eaten minus calories burned through working out and then minus your bmr calories and that is how they get the average of how many lbs you will burn at that rate. It takes about 3500 calories burned to lose a lbs.

some watchouts with BMR
yes your depends on your age, weight etc. I think the site gets it if you run the calculator - so make sure you run it for your current values.
Next consider activity level carefully. If you are inputting workouts and using the profile calculation to track how you are doing then you don't want those workouts included in your BMR (or the profiler will give you double credit for your workouts). On the other hand if you workout regularly and don't need to track workouts, then including your activity level in the BMR calculation will save you some steps.
Tbbiker - FYI my BMR is also around 1900 and not just as calculated here but also via other methods. To get a lower BMR you would need to be thin and sedentary - I don't know how age figures into the calculation.
