different calories for exercises.....how can i change it????
Im new... and frustrated with this program! I use the elliptical all the time, and can register as losing up to 900 calories in 45 minutes, but this program wont let me change how many calories I burn, the typical elliptical training calorie count is 346 cal in 45 minutes... I was hoping to be able to change the calories, or creat a new exercise but it does not look like i can... any suggestions?

Keep up the good work...don't get frustrated!!!
I notice the same thing with my workout tracker..I post all my cardio workouts and surprisingly Fitclick registers more of a calorie burn than I report in the gym. As a suggestion: are you changing the IMPACT tab on the right of the routine...it ranges from 1 - 8, maybe that may help, and are calculating the correct distance and time. Whatever it may be, keep up the good work. You are an encouragement to me. I am doing an hour on the elliptical and only burning 900 calories...what are you doing to burn fast in little time...

RE: meledaisy/Calories Burned
Meledaisy, when tracking your cardio exercises, are you entering actual values for both distance and time? We are currently working on adding features that will allow users to add exercises and manually enter calories-burned.

I agree
My feelings exactly. I do not like the workout tracker. I just want to be able to enter what I did and how many calories I know i burned. Example: treadmill 46 minutes inline of 3.5 at speed of 3.0 It said I burned 270 calories..this includes the warm up and cool down which is slower, but still!!!

....
I found that if I entered the distance it lowered teh amount of caloires... which makes no sense... unless Im mixing up km and miles! haha

I wonder if it makes a difference that Im using an elliptical with arms that move and resistance. It makes no sense to use the same number for the small ellipticals as the heavy duty gym ellipticals with more resistance... you could burn more going for tehsame distance and time.

I am listening to upbeat music, and keep a big fan on me all the time, I find it keeps me cooler and then I dont notice the pain! ;) I challenge myself to do a certain amount of calories every 5 minutes. The number depends on how I'm feeling that day.... I just push to reach that goal and then decide on the next 5 minutes... sounds silly, but it works for me!

different calories for exercises.....how can i change it????
i ran across the same problem... so, what i do is adjust the actual time i did the exercise... i know its not exact, but it gets my calories closer to what was registered on my HRM...

kind of a PITA, but still works.. hope this helps!

We have not yet completed the manual calories-burned feature. It is still on our list of future updates. Please stay tuned to the FitClick blog and messageboards for announcements.
