Directions:  
Whisk softened butter, sugar and maple syrup
Mix in egg and vanilla
Mix all the dry ingredients together

Slowly add the mixed dry ingredients to the butter and sugar mixture mixing thoroughly after each addition. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill the cookie batter in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. Using a rounded teaspoon, spoon the batter onto cookie sheets and flatten with a glass (2 inches between each cookie. Bake at 375 f for 12 to 14 minutes.
