Atypical MN Weather

Again yesterday late afternoon, i made the trek to church for confirmation skit and broke a major sweat, which in February, in Minnesota, is NOT normal. Walked through a dusting of snow--beautiful and problematic. Didn't walk all the way back home since it was close to 7:30 and very dark in rural MN. Hubby met me along the way and I treated him, daughter and myself to a Dairy Queen. My first full-fledged sweet thing in a long time. Long night, though. Could not sleep and not really sure why.

Changed up

changed up my walking route to work and to post office. Old route had only one incline. New route has 4, a couple really work my calves. Even in 15 to 25 degree weather, i still get a good "glow" on. Sometimes even have to take off hat and gloves to make sure it's not a full blown sweat. Glad i still have motivation to do it!

Daughter home from school, but still managed to get in a major walk. Walked 2:10 at a 4 mph clip to do some church business and then home a different way. When i did get home, lifting the legs for the stairs was another matter. Felt good though after a huge cup of water. Worked up a good sweat in 20 degree weather! (Would really like some snow!)

Took measurements this AM and all have stayed the same except my neck. I mean, REALLY? My neck? Maybe its because of chewing all those veggies and pecans and other "good for me stuff". But c'mon, I need a little bit more measurable verification that i'm actually doing something good! ARGH!

Didn't do much for working out other than the daily puppy walk, but still kept a handle on food. Didn't get into the beer, pop, pizza or snacks. When I woke this morning for my weigh-in, found that it didn't move with which i was pleased after lazing around. Today I'm back with the walking!

Walked 2 miles to church to help youth make 250+ pizzas for Super Bowl Sunday and you can't sit down and make that many pizzas in 4 hours. Brought food to eat but honestly forgot and really wasn't very hungry. Will see how i feel after i slow down a bit. Nice to have the energy to do it.

always seems to be the hardest but the most satisfying. Then it will be the first 5 pounds and so on. My struggle has always been maintaining, especially when walking/driving past a Coldstone Creamery!
Here's to that FIRST POUND! ( I am patting myself on the back ever so lightly )

When you can't walk up and down a flight of stairs without gasping for air, you know you can't go on with the same-old-same-old. So starting Monday, Jan. 30th, I pushed myself to 10 times up and down (the up was the worst), and next monday will be 15 times.
I have also been trying to really take a look at my eating habits and have found i am addicted to carbs and processed sugars and boredom eating. The Diet Tracker is going to shed a light on my eating habits and show me how bad it is.
