Eating sensibly during the holidays needn't mean forsaking sweets. Here, a cookie-like dessert from Skylonda spa in Woodside, California, that's chock-full of flavor—not calories and fat.

Blueberry Crisps With Oatmeal Crust

Combine in a bowl:
2 cups blueberries
2 tablespoons sugar or to taste
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon unbleached flour
To make the crispy topping, combine the following in a bowl:
½ cup oatmeal
¼ cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons whole wheat flour
1 tablespoon maple syrup
1 tablespoon melted butter
Coat four 4-ounce ramekin molds with nonfat cooking spray. In each, spoon in ½ cup of the blueberry mixture and top with 2 tablespoons of topping. Bake in a 375º oven for 8 to 10 minutes.

Serves 4; 211 calories and 3.5 g fat per serving.

  • I am not a trainer but I have been working out with a persoanl trainer for over a year and she is right. You need muscle mass to burn calories and women rarely bulk up. I suggest doing 15 reps of a weight that becomes VERY difficult at 12. This way you are building muscle. Don't forget to up your weights and switch it up so your body does not get used to anything and always has to work,
