Went on vacation a couple of weeks ago and there was no thought of diet or working out while I was gone. Hey, it was vacation!  Then when I got back, the excuses started.  So Sunday I got on the scale to see what the damage was and surprisingly I only gained 5lbs.  But that is how it all started last time.  In 2006 I lost 30lbs and was a happy and healthy 135lbs.  Then 5lbs here and there got me 215lbs by 2011.  Now I am down to 165lbs and still have more to g

Day 3 Workout

I'm still doing well on my workout.  Today was supposed to be my rest day, but I got up this morning and decided that I wanted to hit the treadmill.  I'm afraid that if I take a day off this early, it will start the excuses to not go again.  I feel great when I finish my workout, pushing myself a little further everyday...not much, just a point or two.  This feeling actually makes me WANT to workout and look forward to them.  Sometimes it amazes me that I d

Feeling proud of myself

Looking back over my weight loss/fitness journey so far (7 months), I have lost 45lbs and recently started working out and trying to walk/jog for 2 miles.  I realized I don't mind the mirror so much anymore, I feel happier and less stressed, my marriage has even improved.  I guess it's true what they say...Loving yourself is good for your life.  Even my coworkers comment that I am "bubblier."  I am really loving this new me so far...can't wait to m

Morning workout

I was having a lot of trouble fitting in a workout routine after work.  The gym was crowded and I am uncomfortable in crowds, tired after work, too comfortable in the AC to go back out in the heat...I have a whole list of excuses if anyone wants to borrow some ;)
