Day 3

This is my first post about what I've been up to! Since this is actually day three for me, I'll recap.

Day 1: explored the site, started logging my foods. Thought about exercising but didn't have time as I worked from 8:30am-9pm =\

Day 2: Yesterday, I worked a full day and in the evening went out for ice cream with a friend. I planned ahead and looked up the Coldstone menu and tried to be healthy there-- I got watermelon sorbet and it was great! Dinner wasn't so successful, however, because we had fettucini alfredo at home. It's one of my favorite meals but I know it's awful for you so I tried to eat a reasonable portion without going overboard. I also ate a lot of the broccoli. It's tough sometimes when I eat the meals my mom makes for dinner because sometimes I wish they were better for me. My family hasn't jumped on the healthy-eating bandwagon yet and I wish they would, it would be so much better for them.

Day 3: Today! I was off to a good start because I went running this morning =) Only one mile, but still better than nothing, especially because I was about to change my mind and not go at all. I've been trying to make healthy eating choices today and I think so far today I've been doing pretty well. What I'm noticing so far with this calorie logging is that I'm having trouble staying under the target amount of fat in foods and I'm not getting enough protein. I haven't figured out how to fix this.

I want to buy an electronic scale so that I can easily tell what my number is rather than having to look at the little line in the dim light and try to guess. I don't want to become obsessed wtih weighing myself but since I would like to lose 10-15 pounds in this process, I would like to weigh myself every week or so to see what's up.

So today was a success so far, since I got out and exercised. Some days I just feel like it's hard to do because I don't always have time in my day to schedule a run or a trip to the gym, then a shower, in between everything else I have going on. I'll have to work on that.

Peace!
