The Beginning

Hi there. So here is my story. I am a 41 year old guy. I have been very overweight my entire life. When starting this journey in June I weighed 525 pounds and I am 6'1". I lost 55 pounds and then fell off and gained some back. Two weeks ago I was at 485 and decided to get serious again. It isn't the first time but I plan for it to be the last. (to be honest it is not the first time I have said that either)
I have had two huge loss weeks so far. The first week I lost 12 which was expected at my size. The second wee I lost 14 and I was somewhat stunned by that a I expected to lose 5-8 pounds.
I am currently at 459 and already starting to feel better.
A few other things I need to reveal. In 1995 and into '96 I lost 227 pounds through the help of Jenny Craig. I was a pretty fit 210 pounds and felt awesome. As soon as I got off the program and over the next 15 years I gained that back plus 88 pounds.
Not good.
You may ask how the hell did that happen? It is impossible to explain. I guess bad habits.......or terrible habits. Tons of fast food and soda.
Next question would be why not do Jenny Craig again? That answer is easy. What ever I accomplish this time needs to be with regular store bought food. I personally need to be confident I can maintain my plan and actually develop the skills I need to succeed.
One more issue to toss in there. About 16 months ago I ruptured 4 discs in my back. I am in a real rough spot as far as getting around. I am limited right now in the exercise I can do. I do have and exercise bike that I can ride OK without to much pain so that is where I start.
I have filled out every single thing I have consumed in a common day since on "the plan" and it came out to 2400 calories which was about 1100 less than recommended on here for my weight. I was within the excepted range for "fats" but low in all else.
I have this question. I am very comfortable on the plan I am on. Is it OK to be low? I do not feel like I need the extra food. The truth is I am no expert. Does anyone have any advice?
Thanks for reading.
