Fighting Hunger
I just started my diet and fitness plan this afternoon. I am used to consuming large amounts of food. I have only been "dieting" for five hours and I am starving. Unfortunately I consumed all my calories this morning and I am trying to be good and not go overboard this afternoon. Any advice on fighting hunger? I don't want to lose my motivation the first day.

I drink tons of water. All day long. Helps me get through it. Once your stomach gets used to smaller meals it wont be so bad. You will still get cravings but you wont feel like your starving. Hang in there and go for a walk if possible when you feel hungry. Keep busy and try to keep your mind focused on feeling good and being healthy. Good luck to you.

I know what you are going through!! Don't despair!
Hey there Jlhurn,

I can not speak for everyone here, but I remember the day I started on here, VIVIDLY. I felt like my World had ended in some ways, b/c food was/is/had been such a HUGE part of my life. It took me a while to realize, and this was just me, that I was hungry mostly b/c I needed the comfort to turn to, while going through something really hard-It is really hard to change, or to try to change. The best advice I can give you, is keep talking about it, keep writing a journal or track what's really going on with you. I have kept track for the four months I have been here, and I am sure it has been my saving grace. Scan the message boards, and friend people. Keep us in the loop and we can help you. Wishing you the best, and don't worry if you slip up, you can just pick up where you left off-you are amongst many who can relate!

Sunflower seeds and salmon. They fill you up with good fats and protein. Works great.
