Older Guy Looking For Advice
Im a 46yo guy, 6ft,205#, trying to lose some weight but not muscle. Ive been working out on and off for the last 20yrs or so. I have DBs at home a couple of Kettlebells. My problem is i have injured both my shoulders over the years and need to be careful with squats etc. I walk almost everyday for about 45 minutes or so at a brisk pace. Any ideas as far as workouts or diets? Thanks, Steve

some easy info
walk with strap on weights I have even tried running with a garbage sack around my upper torso it works for me but to be serious on a diet eat veggies green in color uncooked they have more nutrients then when their cooked. also when you go on your walks instead of a timed routine make it a mile then two miles up to four a day thats where the burn with start to show.

incline walks
many bodybuilders are looking for the same thing -- burn fat and lose weight, but without losing muscle. what they do is long walks at a slow pace at a steep incline -- for example, on a treadmill at 1+ hour at 15% incline at a 2.5 pace

What are you willing to do
It depends on how committed you are to loosing fat and maintaining muscle, but I would look into a ketogenic diet. I follow a cyclical ketogenic diet in the summer time with great results but it takes a lot of dedication. Basically, you elevate fat consumption, drastically reduce carbohydrates intake (usually to levels < 20g) and continue to eat a lot of protein.
