I was pretty good yesterday, and I'm working on staying strong for the rest of the day. I think my cravings have definitely gone up, which is my body trying to gain back the weight I've lost so far. We're going into month two of the SlimFast 3-2-1 plan, and no real ill effects yet. I've heard that some people have trouble with it, but I've felt good the whole time thus far, and so has my SO. He's gone until Sunday, so I'll have the house mostly to myself.

Grr... Pressured into going out to dinner at 11:30 last night to Steak 'n Shake. I managed to avoid getting a shake or dessert, but I still had half of a Frisco Melt in addition to the garden salad and grapes I had ordered in an effort to keep the calories low. We have so much food at home yet there's still an insistence to go out to dinner that I can't get my roommates to abandon.

Friendships and food have a unique relationship; it's difficult to see friends and bypass the ritual of sharing food. Last weekend I obliterated my diet with two beers and a screwdriver: it's amazing the calories in liquor. I'm going to work to avoid the same pitfalls this weekend, but I already anticipate misery.

Motivation and perseverance are always going to be problems for me, mostly because of my penchant for procrastination. I really had to force myself to do cardio last night, and still wimped out after 20 minutes of going hard. I think that part of it was that it was right before bedtime, so I was already tired. Still, it's all about taking it one day at a time and not punishing yourself or giving up after a bad day.

My boyfriend and I started the 3-2-1 Slimfast diet together on July 2, and we've been going strong for almost three weeks now. We've each lost about 10 pounds so far through diet and exercise, and looking to keep going strong. The big 3-0 is coming up for me in December, and I'd really like to start the next decade of my life in a healthier, fitter body.
