I know it ha been a while since I was on this sight, but I do have a good reason this time.  We finally finished moving and my new place looks like a home now instead of a storage unit.  And we finally got our internet turned on so now I can start logging my food and excercise again, now that I have time.
My knees are still hurting, but I modify alot of the excercise so I can do them without hurting them wo

My son gave me the Ultimate Walking Workout with Chris Freytag, which I have been working out to.  I have to modify alot of the steps because of my osteoarthritis, but I still get a really good workout. I also use 1 pound weights when I'm working out with this DVD, hopefully, that little bit will help burn off a few more calories.

I'm embarresed to say that I have gained weight again.  The doctor weighed me the other day and I weighed 258.4 pounds.  I'm still working out and trying to do different things each week so I don't get bored but the foods that are brought into the house aren't the healthest.  Luckily this week instead of soda I got a case of bottled water to drink.  Hopefully I can get back on track and lose the weight needed to have knee surgery.  Wish me...

Soda Pop

Ok, so I have no idea what's going on with me these past couple of days other the the fact that my husband has decided to bring in a few cases of soda, knowing that instead of water I will get a soda instead whenever I'm thirsty.  :(  I seem to have no will power to stay away from the soda.  He knows I am trying to lose weight but I swear he tries to sabotage my efforts.  Plus he's been buying more of the quick to cook foods such as chicken nuggets and other high sodium foods...

Yesterday

Yesterday was a very fun day.  I went fishing with my husband and son at a very beautiful lake.  It was nice and peaceful, which is what I needed.  We walked a total of 2 miles and that was from the parking area to the final fishing spot and back to the van again.  It was pretty rough for me to walk because it had some harsh hills to climb to get to the fishing hole.

Feeling good enough to move again

I'm feeling much better now.  My shoulder and neck no longer hurts so I have started working out again.  I do yoga for the stretching benefits and then today I started  Zumba for beginners.  That's a great workout, and it really gets your heart pumping.   I'm just not sure how many days a week I should do the Zumba.  I do strength training once or twice a week and I do yoga every day.  Anyone have any suggestions on how often I should do Zumba?

I haven't really had the chance to work out during the past week, my daughter stayed with us over Father's Day weekend so most of my time was spent with the family instead of on the computer.  Her and I did work out together tho and we went walking.  I also pulled a muscle in my shoulder and back, this past Sunday, so I haven't been able to do much other then walk.  Hopefully here soon I can get back in the swing of things and start my new excercise plan.  I ha...

I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe Memorial Day Weekend.  My family had a great time.  We spent Saturday with friends and then Sunday was with some more friends.  We had a great time, although, I know I was well over the caloric intake and all the other bad things I don't need.  I did really good on my water intake, only had one root beer the entire weekend.  I really didn't excercise, :(  I needed that break.  Now it's time to get started again and get m...

Hi, well, I just watched a very informative video, Mayo Clinic Wellness Solutions for Weight Loss, and I learned alot about what to do and what not to do. It also has a short yoga program that is very simple and makes you feel good afterwards.  I have started doing yoga every morning after breakfast and the pain in my knees is considerable less then what is is before I do the yoga excercises.  The yoga I do is specifially designed for people with arthritis.  It is also helpin...

Ok, I saw the surgeon yesterday about the knee replacement surgery.  He told me before he does the surgery I need to lose between 40 and 60 pounds and he also told me that I am a good candidate for the gastric lapband procedure.  I just have to get pre-certified thru my insurance company before I make my final decision on whether or not I need that or if I can lose it the old fashioned way, thru diet and excercise.  Has anyone had the lapband procedure?  I sure would lik...
