Pushing myself

I read this article a while back about training to be a runner.  It said that to start out you should run for one minute and then walk for two.  The next week you should run for two and walk for one and keep increasing the running time each week while decreasing the walking time.  I thought that this might work for me since I have not been running since highschool and after having three kids running seemed to be out of my grasp.  I starting using this method and now I love running.  Today I pushed myself harder than I have ever pushed before and I ran 3 miles in 35 minutes with an average of 11 minutes for one mile.  If you want to become a runner start small and each week just push yourself a little harder.
