Last winter I started my weight loss journey at 211 pounds. I reached a low of 180 pounds by late May. Then schedules started to change and my whole life got turned upside down. I changed jobs, started dating Larry, and injured my shoulder within the same month. The changes (in addition to my shoulder injury which prevented me from doing a lot of the exercise I was used to doing) threw me off track and I have yet to get started again. I have tried several times, but the stress of working 2 jobs and not having much time to myself has prevented me from getting serious again. Larry wants to get his diet to a healthier place as well but he has no concept of what that means. It is hard sometimes to eat with him because he'll make food that is processed and full of carbs...or we'll eat out or order pizza. He also works the overnight shift which makes it hard for him to be on a regular schedule for anything so he's discouraged in that area. I'm sure that once I get myself started, I'll be able to encourage him and help us to make our time together healthier, but it is a matter of me getting started & teaching him how to eat healthy once I am strong enough with it myself (I know it all comes down to me making changes for me and not relying on anyone else). So...with my shoulder mostly on the mend (I still have minimal pain that comes and goes, but it is managable), my job situation moving from 2 jobs to 1, and Larry supporting me in the best way he knows how, I'm going to restart. It seems like a weird time to be restarting with the holidays and all of the temptation that they bring coming up, but I'd rather start now than add 10 pounds to my restart weight. I haven't weighed myself in about a week and a half, but tomorrow I will weigh myself to get my new starting weight. I have been holding at a pretty steady 197 for a few weeks but with Thanksgiving behind me and my period approaching quickly, I wouldn't be surprised if I've gained a little weight. Here is my plan of action: Eating/Drinking: 1. Eat a minimum of 2 servings of vegetables per day. Work up to 4-5 servings in the next 2 months. 2. Drink a minimum of 8 glasses of water per day (2.5 of my water bottles) 3. Eliminate pop completely. 4. 1 SMALL coffee beverage per week. 5. 1 apple per day. 6. Always eat breakfast AT HOME (no more grabbing something on the way to work.) 7. No eating past 7 pm. 8. Write down everything I eat (when I can't access fitclick). Break on weekends. 9. Plan lunches for work in advance. 10. Eliminate fast food. 11. 1 fiber bar per day. Exercise: 1. Continue walking with Marie on Saturdays. 2. Every other Monday, exercise with Larry (walking, wii fit, or a video.) 3. 3 times a week, do my shoulder exercises. 4. After work 3 days a week, go for a walk (if nice out, at the park, if not, at the indoor track). 5. While watching a tv show, ride the exercise bike for 20 minutes of it. 6. In the morning at work, do strength training exercises while the baby sleeps. Weight Loss Goals: 1. Lose a total of 15 pounds by January 28. (this is a little less than 2 pounds per week.) Should weigh 182-185 (depending on new starting weight that I'll get tomorrow). 2. Lose a total of 25 pounds by February 28. (172-175) 3. Lose a total of 35 pounds by March 31 (162-165) 4. Assess from here if I should keep losing, or start to maintain. 5. If I choose to keep losing, lose 10 more by April 30 (152-155). 6. Learn to maintain weight. 2.
