First time in a restaurant...

…since I restarted this journey 2 weeks ago…and it was rough…but I did well.  I went to the Olive Garden with some friends from church.   I pre-planned what I would eat and knew the calories I would be taking in.  I got there, had the dessert menus in front of me and had to literally turn them upside down and move them away from me because just seeing it was so tempting.  The times that were the hardest for me were the times between courses…there were still baskets of breadsticks in front of me after I finished my soup…I wanted to have a second one so badly but I resisted.  Then after dinner it was hard not to order a small dessert (the mini desserts there are all over 200 calories) but I resisted.

Overall it was really hard to go to the Olive Garden and not order pasta…I had apricot chicken…it was so good…but it wasn’t pasta and it was hard watching others eat their pasta.  But at the same time it felt so good to know that I had made a good choice.  It felt good to know that I wouldn’t be beating myself up over the choice later on.

This was my first really truly difficult experience in the past 2 weeks…the rest has been overall pretty good and also pretty easy.  But I’m glad that I had success in this experience!
