Following all the rules but still not loosing- help
Hi, I love this website and i go in everyday to log in my exercise and food, ever I since i found this website roughly 2 to 3 weeks ago, I have been exercising at least 6 days a week, following whatever exercise program the website advises me to do and following a low fat diet with maximum of 1960 calories a day, i try not to do more than 1490, my bad day will be around 1900 cal a day, and i realize that I am not loosing, do you think it is because of the strength training, maybe it is turning the fat into muscles, please advise, i need to see the scale go down to give me more encourage, but if it is not moving it gets a little discouraging. I am a 38 year old woman who weighs 215.0. Please help.

measurements
Hey - take your measurements - you can input them under the weigh-in option. Give it a week or two and measure again. If you are working out hard w/ weights and often (I'd call 6x/week often!) you should definitely be seeing some changes. Then you can go to livestong.org and use their BMI calculator - put in your old measurements then your new ones to see how/if your body composition (% fat vs % lean (bone+ water+ muscle) has changed. Change in lean will be driven by muscle, so you can actually calculate how many pounds of muscle you have gained and pounds of fat you have lost. I have been doing this 2.5 weeks (with fitclick) and actually gained a couple of pounds at first and now am back to my starting weight - but I've lost 2" on my waist and 1.5" on my hips, lost 6 lbs of fat and gained 5 lbs of muscle. That is much more encouraging that not seeing numbers change on the scale. I am SURE your body is changing even though your weight is not.

THANKS
Thanks a lot, I guess I will keep with the program and do my measurements today when I go home and measure again next week and see the change. Thanks very much.

give it time
How long did it take you to put on that weight? It took me 8 years to get this fat! So I don't expect it to go away in a few weeks..the most important thing is to stay COMMITTED..and keep motivated..and give yourself time. It takes weeks to see a change. I have been working at it for about 5 weeks , and have lost about 5 pounds..If I lose one pound a week, or even 1/2 pound, that is PROGRESS..So just keep in mind that it takes time for change, but keep a visual picture of what you want to look like, and how you want to feel about yourself, then go in that direction..and NEVER GIVE UP!!
