Getting Started!

Well, here I go...
This upcoming Monday, September 20th will be a new re-start for me. I homeschool our two teenage boys and I am going to include them in my weight-loss journey and make it a learning experience for them as well. I want to be able to ensure that they are as healthy as possible and to make sure that they develop some new healthy habits. We are going to work-out together every morning (i.e., walking, treadmill, strength-training, swimming, boxing). They are also involved in Fencing. Since both me and my husband are diabetic I want to incorporate healthier cooking and our goal as a family will be to learn how to eat healthy and stay physically fit; therefore, helping the boys to learn ways to reduce their chances of developing the disease.
It's going to be challenging---but if I want to succeed in achieving my goals, I realize that I have to make it a "family affair". I'm naming my journey the "Our Fit Family Forward" program. From this point on, I am making a commitment to myself and my family to start this program and stick with it for the next 6 months. Then, I will step back and take a look at my results. Hopefully, I will have achieved my goal weight of 169-179 lbs.
