Several years ago I did Weight Watchers and lost over 20 lbs fairly easily.  I'm trying FitClick now because I don't want the expense of WW.  I've been reflecting on how I achieved my goal weight last time and am going to incorporate those things into what I am doing now.

I lost weight last time because I:

1) Made a daily committment to stick to my eating plan everyday.
2) I walked or ran on non-worout days.
3) I worked out three days a week.   I am committing to 35 -50 minutes 3xweek.
4) I only weighed myself once a week.
5) If I didn't lose weight one week, I just kept doing steps 1-3 anyways.
6) I was careful about portions.  I've been eating huge portions lately and am now eating portions that match serving size suggestions.
7) I had fun with it.
8) For each 5 lbs I lost I rewarded myself (not with new clothes or food but with something simple, new nail polish, a movie, a book, etc.)

This time I am gong to add something I learned in Laughter Yoga.  Everyday I am going to say a little mantra that goes like this:

"I like my body", "My body helps me (fill in the blank)", "I really, really, really, really, really like my body" "Thank you body".

"I like my belly", "My belly helps me laugh", "I really, really, really, really, really like my belly", "Thank you belly"

I do this five or six times with different body parts.  Even the parts I don't yet like.  I think some of my weight gain is tied into body shame, self-loathing, etc.  The more I work to reprogram those faulty, negative beliefs, the easier it will be for me to enjoy eating in a healthier manner and exercising to feel good.

I feel great today and am grateful to have the opportunity to live a healthy life.

Life is good!
