Description:

Just like the popular Paleo Diet, this plan consists mainly of foods that can be hunted and fished (lean meats and seafood), and foods that can be gathered (eggs, fruit, nuts, seeds, and vegetables). Also, there are number of foods that are to be avoided, including all cereal grains (rice, corn, wheat, oats, barley) and refined carbohydrates (white rice and flour) in particular. Dairy products (cow's milk, goat's milk, all cheeses), potatoes, beans, legumes (including peanuts), added salt and sugar, and all processed foods should also be avoided.

Caloric intake from protein sources is relatively high (about 35%) while calories from carbohydrates is relatively low (about 25%). Fat intake is slightly higher to what is typically found in modern Western diets (about 40%). But in general the macro nutrient percentages and caloric ranges are basic guidelines as the main focus is less about calories and more about eating the right foods.
