End of a Year- a new Beginning

Wow, so much has happend this year. Starting working out with a personal trainer in June, doing spin classes. I did my first group triathalon and I did the bike portion. However I didn't lose a pound even when I was watching my diet. At the same time my husband and I decided that we would try and have kids (something of a change of heart). I am 37 years old and had 2 miscarriages since getting married. I finally visited a fertility clinic and was diagnosed with PCOS. The doctor mentioned that I was doing the "right" things but women with PCOS have a hard time losing their middle weight around their hips and stomach. He prescribed a medication that is actually meant for diabetics (although I was tested and am not diabetic) and said there is a great chance of losing weight and reduced % of miscarriages while on the medication. So I started medication, started a more consistent training program consisting of 6 days a week of running, spinning, weights and spin, and personal training. As well I am in the process of shifting to a higher protein diet as was also suggested. So far I have lost 4 pounds. I'm optimistic for the new year! I have two new goals for the new year which is a 5 km run in March and my first sprint triathalon in July! Hears to 2010, a healthy me and healthy baby!
