Well Let's get it started.... I am back on the elliptical, back to lifting weights. Not back to pilates yet or crunches on the ball. But in time, in time. Lost 47 pounds 2 years ago, managed to keep it off a year then exactly one year ago April 26th my beloved dad died and I ate whatever the hell I felt like eating. Now I gained back 30 pounds, just lost 2 already and am down to 28. Thats my first little goal. Lose those pounds I gained back which really pisses me off because I have to lose THE SAME WEIGHT all over again!! I have made myself extra work!!
Well, that should teach me, since I hate doing the work twice, make sure there is no third time. There's some motivation right there. Still, I am also making a doctors appt. because an endocrinologist told me when I was 32 than I had a "sluggish metabolism" and should eat only 1200 calories a day and do "aerobics" every day. Like on 1200 calories I am going to have the energy to aerobics. No diet tips, no suggestions for high protein, just do aerobics and 1200 calories per day. Moron. Now that I am rapidly approaching 50 (in 2 1/2 months) I am sure it is virtually non-existent, never mind sluggish. I am going to find that out and see if my wonderful M.D. can help me out so I don't have to eat hardly anything and work out like a lunatic to lose some weight. I must say at least I am on a high protein low carb diet. That helps.
I also find these "little goals" help alot. After I lose the intital 28 pounds, my next goal will be to lose 15 pounds and weigh what I weighed when I met my first husband. Then after that my next little goal will be to weigh what I weighted at 21, which will require another 15 pounds. Then I will see how much further I have to go to fit into a size 8. Only because I have never been a single digit size in my life and that would be cool. 10 was as far as I got at 21. Oh well had a delish breakfast and 3.34 miles on the elliptical in 33 minutes. Not bad, burned 376 calories. Hopefully I can squeeze in some meditation tonight. For whatever reason that helps me lose weight too.
