It's Been Too Long

How often do we really LOOK at ourselves in the mirror? I always give a cursory glance...hair styled, makeup not smudged, teeth white and shining--but only recently did I take a good, long look at myself and I was started to realize that I simply don't recognize the girl staring back at me from the mirror. The slightly doubled chin, puffy cheeks and sad eyes--this isn't me! I've spent years taking care of everyone OTHER than myself and I've completely lost ME in the process. Not just physically but emotionally as well. Tired of being unhappy and tired of being the "big" girl in the family--I've vowed to begin a quest to rediscover myself and the woman that I was meant to be. I started with a 6 day per week workout regimen--45 minutes on the gazelle plus 3 days of swimming laps, doing crunches and completing a set number of squat reps. Now I'm dieting by counting calories and really considering the food that I'm putting into my body. I already feel better...although slightly hungry.
