It's kind of funny that there are all these 'new' approaches to dieting and they boil down mostly to variations of the Curves principle.  Dr. Oz is the latest to jump on the bandwagon. oh well...

I received a nice little package from Diane magazine; a tote and toiletries.  Very nice indeed.  I especially love the shea body butter; I've only just in the last few months discovered this substance.   Where have I been?  This stuff is amazing!

A former co-worker has died of cancer; she went to the doctor December 8th complaining of a long chest cold, was diagnosed with cancer and died a week ago.  She was 58.  It perhaps gives one more incentive to make the best of the life that you have.  Ah, diet and get in shape, anyone?

On that note I am laying the groundwork for retirement. I am slowly but surely making the contacts I need, reading the maps, marking the spots on Google Earth for my trip.  I expect that by the time I'm finished the initial odyssey that I will put somewhere about 30,000 km on the car in a matter of month. I am seriously considering forgoing my Easter vacation and using the money on the car.

I am really getting interested in the 100 mile diet.  I live in a bread basket but what an interesting element that would make to my trip!  Imagine keeping to a 100 mile diet as you travel across Canada and the States! Of course, keeping to the Curves prinicples of eating would be part of it!  An awesome challenge!

So many thoughts are whirling around!
